i can't stop cooking!








it's this weather. the colder and rainer it gets, the more i cook. it started with a little canning. tomato chutney, lemon chutney, and ketchup. 







then it was eggs. what a difference a happy, healthy chicken makes.



can you tell which eggs are pastured?
with local, organic mushrooms, onions, and fingerling potatoes, all from my CSA
made a beautiful frittata


hmm .. what else can i do with eggs ... oooh, i know ...


can't get over the color of those yolks



fried rice


which goes well with ...

slow cooked pork


now ... what to do with all these apples in season now?


lots of butter
a little brown sugar, ginger, and cinnamon
delicious on top of pancakes



and more eggs ... 

scrambled with raw cream, and local, organic potatoes, onions and red peppers

on cold, rainy days, the crock pot calls ...


chicken ....
and dumplings - can you say comfort food?


























spaghetti sauce

with sweet italian sausage

and, courtesy of all this cooking ....

'food' for the compost bin - to return all that fertility to the soil.
